This Extended Education session provides a practical, architecture-focused exploration of Extensibility Engineering with DynaChange Business Rules in Prophet 21 (P21). Designed for technically proficient customers, the session
goes beyond basic Rule development to examine how Business Rules fit into the broader P21 extensibility ecosystem and how they can be combined effectively with tools such as DynaChange, Middleware (P21API) and Automation Studio.

Attendees will gain a clear understanding of where and how Business Rules execute within P21, including setup, configuration, execution context, and modern capabilities such as Alerts, extended events, and execution visibility. Through a series of self-contained, scenario-based modules, participants will review prebuilt examples that illustrate common patterns, best practices, and architectural tradeoffs encountered in real-world customer environments.

The session emphasizes architectural thinking over point solutions, focusing on selecting the right triggers, avoiding common anti-patterns, and designing Rules that act as operational multipliers rather than obstacles. Performance and scalability considerations are discussed as a through-line, with guidance on observability, logging, and when deeper analysis may be required.

Participants will leave with reusable sample code, presentation materials, and a stronger mental model for designing sustainable, supportable extensibility solutions using Business Rules as part of a cohesive P21 extensibility strategy.
