Australian big wave surfer, author, keynote speaker, mindset coach and ocean adventurer Mark Visser is the founder of The Ocean Warrior and the 2014/15 big wave paddle-in champion. Mark made history by surfing one of the world’s biggest waves at Jaws (Pe’ahi), Maui, in total darkness. This was a true “world’s first” achievement, known globally as Night Rider.
Mark’s feats reflect not only his passion for surfing, but also his commitment to adventure, exploration and staying connected as a team under extreme pressure. For the past 13 years Mark has been a mindset coach to some of the world’s most successful individuals and organisations, including world champion surfer Kelly Slater, members of the Australian SAS and the US Navy Seals, Olympic athletes, sporting teams, and business professionals.
He specializes in emotional intelligence and helping individuals connect to their ultimate self. Since 2019, Mark has been a mindset coach for the Melbourne FC, working with head coach Simon Goodwin. The club won its first AFL premiership in 56 years, and Simon was awarded Coach of the Year.
Prior to this, Mark was involved with the Richmond FC pre-season training camps and worked directly with leadership players; the team went on to play in their first premiership in 36 years.
